CRICKET SHOTS
PULL SHOT :
This requires the
movement of the hips and a lot of power and this can send the ball far in the
air towards the leg side with a horizontal bat.
BACK DEFENSIVE STROKE:
This stroke is
played to a ball pitching short and bouncing knee high or above . Ball is played under head. Bat vertical but angled
downwards so that ball is not played upward.
THE FORWARD
DEFENCE STROKE :
To prevent a good length ball from hitting the
wicket . The ball should not bounce as high as the knee. Maintain a good
balance by keeping head close to front shoulder and over the bat
COVER DRIVE :
This is hit on the off side not with power but
with sheer excellence, so this shot requires a lot of practice.
STRAIGHT DRIVE:
This shot also
somewhat like the cover drive but it is hit straight back to the bowler. It can
be hit either in the air or on the ground. To play to a half volley which
pitches approximately on the line of the middle stump.
